The reports indicate that all efforts must be focused on agriculture, since it is one of the sectors most affected by child labour. Special care must be paid to Africa.

The report mentions that South-South cooperation is the driving force in the search of solutions to global issues like child’s labour.

Objectives towards 2016:

“A political will to intensify the struggle against child’s labour through prior investments at the service of development. All the international community has to do is show boldness and tenacity.”

A few strategic points to fulfil the objective of 2016:

  1. ILO, UNICEF and UNESCO should especially reinforce their cooperation to join their complementary assets ;
  2. Financial and human actions that enable to struggle against academic drop out, especially the girls’ one ;
  3. Establishing free education.

A few measures recommended by the report:

  1. Increased collaboration with social partners ;
  2. Increased collaboration with the global march against child’s labour ;
  3. Creation of a private-public partnership of struggle against child’s labour ;
  4. Creation of a specific l fund to give more scope to some operations that foster the increase of the struggle against child’s labour.

Doesn’t this report challenge the movements, especially those in Africa ?

Six different lines:

  • In agriculture a challenge to meet to struggle child’s labour
  • Domestic children in a large proportion done by girls
  • Children victims of armed conflicts
  • The Impact of HIV / Aids on child’s labour
  • A new concern migrant children
  • Disabled children and other children that need special care

Each movement has its part to play and a commitment to make in the mission that we received. Let us look at what children are experiencing in our villages, areas, cities and let’s start walking to answer the call made by working children.
